JUSTIN MICHAEL NG

Justin oversees student matters at Passion Music, ensuring that students receive the best possible advice and service throughout their musical journey from start to finish. His understanding of the needs of parents and students comes from having been involved in music himself, both as a music educator and musician.

As a tutor, Justin teaches cello and theory, preparing students for both public performances and music exams conducted by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). In years past, he also conducted keyboard and musicianship classes. under the Ministry of Education. In addition, he has been a part of the Sistema Aotearoa programme since 2012. In partnership with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the programme has impacted over 2500 children through its many musical activities including five orchestras.

As a musician, Justin brings with him a wealth of performing experience. For over half a decade, he was the principal of the cello section in the Aotea Youth Symphony (AYS), a 30-year old orchestra which performs in and outside New Zealand – France and Tahiti being the more recent destinations in their performance tours. Aside from performing with the AYS, Justin also served on its committee for many years.

In addition, Justin performs as a cellist at local corporate and community events as well as musicals. In 2022, he performed with Sol3 Mio at their concert  at the Spark Arena, Auckland. He has been involved in all kinds of other gigs through the years including cello-harp duets, string quartets, cello solos with piano accompaniment and such – and looks forward to bringing an element of joy and entertainment to weddings and other such events. Justin also serves in the worship ministry at his church, playing the cello, guitar, and bass guitar. If you’re getting married soon, contact Justin and team to provide beautiful music to brighten your occasion!
